Surfskating has become increasingly popular among people of all ages and backgrounds.
To better understand why this activity is growing in popularity, a survey was recently conducted to gauge the thoughts and experiences of surfskaters.
The responses provided a unique insight into what makes this activity so enjoyable and why it appeals to so many different people.

The survey revealed that 81.2% of participants found surf skating to be an easy way to learn how to surf, due in part to the fact that boards are much lighter and easier to control than traditional surfboards.
Additionally, 72.4% said they would be willing and 4.1% responded negatively when asked if they’d carry a board with them on vacation – showing that portability is an important factor for many surfskaters.
Surfskaters also felt like “real” surfers while riding, with 66.7% citing freedom and thrill as the main reason for participating in the survey.
Interestingly, 72% had tried out a surf skate in the last 12 months, 88 % enjoyed it and women between 25-45 made up a significant portion of those surveyed.
This data suggests that this activity is becoming more accessible for women, which could potentially lead to further growth in popularity over time.
The survey also showed that 67% of the people who responded own their own boards and use them at least once a week.
One out of three people said they purchased their boards recently.
This means that there are still lots of people who could start using these boards, especially if they knew how much fun it is!
Most people ride their skateboards for fun. This is because it is a leisure activity.
It is not primarily used for transportation or exercise, even though it can provide both of those things.
